Marina Baisel’s sculptural practice explores the relationship between memory, material, and the evolving human environment. Her works reinterpret familiar forms and archetypes—nests, shelters, fragments—through a contemporary lens, inviting reflection on the passage of time and the layers of meaning embedded in everyday objects.

She approaches each piece intuitively, allowing concept and context to guide her choice of materials. Unbound by a single medium, Baisel works fluidly across natural and crafted substances, creating tactile compositions that evoke both intimacy and permanence. Her objects carry traces of the past while quietly gesturing toward the future—reminding us that in the pursuit of progress, the essence of what came before continues to shape our perceptions.

Marina Baisel is a Dubai-based product designer and interior designer, graduate of the Higher School of Design. In her works, the author often reflects on the potential interconnection between the future human and the environment, and the tendency to forget the past in the whirlwind of today’s events.
Marina’s art is based on transforming mundane objects from reality; by processing them through her inner world, she creates new and unique interpretations. As an artist, Marina aims to reinterpret our world in her works and draw viewers’ attention to important socio-cultural themes. In an era of active environmental and social discourse, her work reminds us that in the race for the future, the original sources and images are often forgotten.
